boost gauge question |
|
I'm going through fixing stuff on the 55, and one thing I've always had trouble with is the boost gauge. So I plan on going through and checking to see if I'm missing something.
Right now I have a screw in fitting into an intake runner that has a copper line to the gauge.
Things I plan on checking.
Threads in the intake runner - see if I cant out something on to seal it better
The copper line - making sure it isn't kninked or plugged from cutting
Gauge - not really sure- it is brand new.
What other things should I be checking? any tips or suggestions?

Just pulley it. That will fix any kinks.

I'm not scared to put a new set of polleys on it or to put some juice to it, I just want to know what I'm dealing with first.
I mainly want to know so I can make sure the timing and everything else is right for what I'm running.

i run the platic oil lines for my boost line, and used copper for drive pressure. i cant get the copper to seal as well as the platic. also, i have a 60psi gauge if you want to refrence yours for accuracy.

I'll try the regular plastic tube, see if that cures it.

I got the gauge working, but either I have another bug in my system or I just am not productin as much as I thougth I would. Right now the gauge says 5lbs. I was expecting 7-8.
Any ideas on other things to check? Turned out to be a loose fitting, and I took Harley's advice and went to plastic tube.
Could my itty bitty exhaust play a role?
